Financial Aid

Given the high cost of providing quality management education in Pakistan, the University has made a tremendous effort to raise funds to ensure that no deserving candidate is turned away from the programme due to insufficient funds.

The request for financial aid has no bearing on the application for admission. The application for financial aid will be considered by the financial aid committee after an applicant has been offered admission.

How to Apply for Financial Aid

Financial Aid Form is available with the Admission Form. Applicants who need financial assistance have to complete the Financial Aid Form and submit it along with the application form for admission. The admissions office will not accept the financial aid form from the applicants separately after the expiry of the admission deadline.

The following documents are to be submitted along with the financial aid application form:

  • Salary certificate/Pension Slip of all earning members
  • Utility Bills (May through August)
  • Income Tax Returns of all earning members
  • Bank Statement (for the Last one year) of all account holders
  • Wealth Statement
  • Domicile Certificate of the applicant only
  • Rental Lease Agreement (if applicable)
  • Copies of saving certificates/bonds/shares
  • Loan document(s)
  • Fee Concession (Scholarship/loan) document(s) of sibling(s)
  • Photocopy of Applicant's Full Passport
  • Retirement letter and benefit documents (if applicable)
  • Statement of Purpose – Please highlight any aspect of your financial profile which is not entailed in the Financial Aid Form but which can help us in deciding your fiscal need
  • Any other document(s) indicating financial need

Note: The decision regarding financial need is taken on the basis of the information provided at the time of applying. The candidate is responsible for providing complete and accurate information to ensure a financial aid decision in line with the actual financial situation of the candidate. In case of provision of wrong information the Admissions Office reserves the right to take action which may even result in termination of admission.

Process for the Award of Financial Aid - (Loans/Scholarships)

Once the student is granted admission to the programme, the financial aid application of the candidate is moved to the financial aid office for the financial aid decision. The LUMS financial aid committee ascertains the need of the candidate and the LUMS loan is granted on need cum merit basis.

Candidates who have applied for financial aid with their admission application are considered for the award of loans and scholarships.

Students who are at a high need and merit and are shortlisted for LUMS loan are then recommended for various scholarships, provided that these students meet all the criteria set by the donors. If the scholarship is approved by the donor for that applicant, the LUMS loan already granted to the student is converted to scholarship. There is no separate application form for the scholarships. The financial aid application submitted at the time of admission application is the only form which needs to be filled to be considered for award of loans and scholarships. The financial aid committee is authorized to recommend candidates for scholarships on need cum merit basis.
