The Suleman Dawood School of Business (SDSB) at LUMS has announced the appointment of Associate Professor Asad A. Alam, as the new Associate Dean for Executive Education at the Rausing Executive Development Centre (REDC) at SDSB-LUMS. In this role, he will lead the School’s efforts to expand its executive education portfolio, strengthen industry engagement, and design learning experiences that equip leaders to thrive in today’s rapidly evolving business environment.

“Asad Alam brings proven experience in building external partnerships and institutional linkages,” said Dr. M. Adeel Zaffar, Dean of SDSB. “His track record in translating ideas into impactful programmes will help us elevate the reach and relevance of executive education at SDSB. With Asad at the helm, SDSB will be well-positioned to deepen its engagement with alumni, industry leaders, and the wider community, while creating new opportunities for lifelong learning and leadership development.”

Alam has been closely associated with the Rausing Executive Development Centre (REDC) at LUMS for over 15 years, where he has designed and delivered programmes for corporate leaders, government officials, and nonprofit executives. His teaching spans MBA, Executive MBA, MS, and undergraduate programmes, with expertise in financial accounting, entrepreneurial finance, mergers and acquisitions, and business valuation. He has also served in leadership roles, including Director of the Executive MBA Programme, Director of the Accounting and Finance Programme, and Director of the Entrepreneurship and SME Centre at LUMS.

A Certified Public Accountant (Wisconsin, USA), Alam holds an MBA in Entrepreneurship and a BBA in Accounting from the University of Wisconsin–Madison. Before joining academia, he worked as an auditor in the United States, gaining valuable cross-industry experience. Over the years, he has also led consulting and capacity-building projects with organisations such as USAID, UNICEF, Nestlé, Coca-Cola Beverages, and the Government of Pakistan, focusing on financial literacy, entrepreneurship development, and executive capacity building. Beyond academia, he is an entrepreneur, co-founding Saadia Textile (NOOR), a fashion venture with a presence in multiple international markets.

Reflecting on his new role, Alam said:

“I look forward to building on the School’s strengths to deliver programmes that create real impact for executives and organisations. My focus will be on expanding industry partnerships, fostering international collaborations, and developing cutting-edge programmes that address today’s dynamic business challenges. Our goal is to make SDSB the partner of choice for leadership development in Pakistan and the wider region.”
