In a session held on May 31, 2023, at the Suleman Dawood School of Business (SDSB) at Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS), Nighat Seema, PhD management candidate, presented her research on the association between women's participation on corporate boards and research and development intensity (R&D Intensity). The study, which examined data from almost 19,491 firms in 136 countries, found that an increased presence of women on corporate boards positively influenced a company's R&D intensity, up to a certain threshold. However, beyond that point, the impact declined and became statistically insignificant.

The session sparked a productive discussion, with attendees providing feedback on the research methodology and potential avenues for further exploration. The exchange of ideas and perspectives highlighted the importance of continuous improvement in research and the value of constructive dialogue within academic communities. This session at SDSB, LUMS demonstrated the commitment to fostering an environment of intellectual growth and collaboration.
