LUMS Orientation 2025: A New Beginning for Future Leaders
In August, the Suleman Dawood School of Business (SDSB) at LUMS warmly welcomed its incoming students at Orientation 2025, beginning an exciting academic journey. With heartfelt congratulations extended to every new student, the Orientation set the tone for what promises to be a transformative experience that blends academic rigour with personal growth in a vibrant, collaborative community.
Designed to meet students' needs, the Orientation programme featured a dynamic mix of online and in-person activities. From guided tours of the beautiful LUMS campus to interactive sessions with faculty, advisors, and peers, the event ensured that students quickly found their place in this new environment. Alongside the practical guidance on university policies and support services, the Orientation emphasised the importance of building meaningful connections, preparing students for academic success and life beyond the classroom.
For many students, joining LUMS is more than just enrolling in a programme; it’s about pursuing aspirations, widening perspectives, and building futures.
Mariam, who has joined the MS Technology Management and Entrepreneurship (TME) programme, expressed her excitement:
“I chose MS TME because it aligns perfectly with my goals to bridge the gap between technology and business. The entrepreneurial ecosystem and industry connections LUMS provides—I couldn’t ask for more. I’m looking forward to having a great time here.”
For Eesha Usman, a pharmacist from Gujranwala, this new chapter represents a step toward broader horizons:
“I wanted a wider perspective of life. LUMS gives me the opportunity to explore not only pharmaceutical firms but also other corporate sectors. That’s why I chose LUMS.”
Meanwhile, Kiran Arooj, a gold medalist in Economics from LUMS and now a PhD Management candidate at SDSB, reflected on her passion for academia:
“I am extremely passionate about teaching, and the PhD programme at SDSB will help me pursue that path in the future.”
The diversity of the incoming cohort was further highlighted by Dr. Shahzad Naveed Jadoon, Director at Altech Pakistan Pvt. Ltd., who has joined the Executive MBA programme:
“LUMS has a rich culture, a strong alumni network, and a vibrant social setup. I believe in learning beyond boundaries, and this programme will strengthen my knowledge and help me build lasting relationships on campus and beyond.”
As Orientation 2025 came to a close, one thing was clear: the new students at SDSB are ready to explore, learn, and thrive. With their aspirations, diverse experiences, and passion for growth, they embody the spirit of LUMS—leaders in the making, prepared to take on challenges and shape the future.
Here’s to new beginnings, exciting opportunities, and an unforgettable journey at LUMS!
