LUMS Students Honoured with Qimam Award for High-Potential Leaders

LUMS is proud to share that seven of its students were selected for the prestigious Qimam Fellowship Class of 2026, an international fellowship programme that brings together promising university students from Pakistan for leadership training, mentorship from senior leaders across the public and private sectors, and exposure to leading organisations. With more than 13,000 applicants nationwide and an acceptance rate of just 0.3%, only 40 fellows were selected across Pakistan, including seven from LUMS, making the University the most represented institution in this year’s cohort.

The LUMS students who joined the cohort were Rafia Imran (BSc ’26), Hassam Tahir (BA-LL.B ’27), Maria Khalid (BS ’27), Afsheen Dad (BSc ’27), Aleena Ali Shahid (BSc ’28), Haya Afareen (BS ’28), and Romaisa Malik (BS ’29). Following the successful completion of the intensive, fully funded residential programme this past August, all seven students were honoured with the Qimam Award for High-Potential Leaders.

Co-founded by McKinsey & Company, the fellowship provided the students with an opportunity to engage directly with leading organisations and professionals. As part of the programme, they participated in leadership diagnostics and visited prominent organisations including Bazaar Technologies, K-Electric, State Life Insurance, and ibex.
