Students enrolled in MGMT-481 (Entrepreneurship) at the Suleman Dawood School of Business (SDSB), led by Ms. Sahar Atif, visited LAAM’s head office in Lahore to learn about the fashion-tech industry.

The session included a discussion with Arif Iqbal (CEO, LAAM) and Bilal Khokhar (Head of Product, LAAM), who spoke about the journey of building and scaling a fashion-tech startup. They outlined the initial challenges in establishing LAAM, including market positioning, securing funding, and developing a sustainable business model. They also discussed how technology is transforming the fashion industry, particularly in areas such as e-commerce, data-driven decision-making, and supply chain management.

The conversation explored operational complexities, such as managing vendor relationships, optimising logistics, and ensuring a seamless customer experience in an increasingly digital marketplace. They highlighted strategic decisions that shaped LAAM’s growth, including product development, branding, and international market expansion. The discussion gave students a deeper understanding of how entrepreneurs identify opportunities, mitigate risks, and scale businesses in competitive and evolving industries.

Students also participated in one-on-one mentoring sessions with LAAM’s leadership, where they discussed their entrepreneurial ideas, industry trends, and career paths. These discussions allowed them to ask questions and receive guidance on business challenges, strategy, and innovation.

The visit connected classroom learning with industry practices, helping students understand how entrepreneurship and technology intersect in the fashion industry. They returned with a broader perspective on the dynamics of startups and the evolving business environment.
