What would it take to make philanthropy more effective in Pakistan?
On September 28, 2026, SDSB convened leaders from Pakistan’s philanthropic community, alongside academics and practitioners, for an interactive workshop moderated by Dr. Adil Najam, President, WWF International and Dean Emeritus and Professor at Boston University’s Pardee School of Global Studies. The conversation examined Pakistan’s philanthropic landscape and the shift from individual giving towards more strategic and institutional approaches. Participants explored the role of universities in advancing this transition through research, education and professional development, and public and policy engagement.
For SDSB, the conversation sits at the intersection of management knowledge, philanthropy, and societal impact. It reflects the School’s engagement with questions around how philanthropic giving can become more strategic, informed, and effective.
